EnerGaia Institute secures 11 IP-fund approvals with EX-IX

EnerGaia Institute, a long-standing summit partner, has secured 11 approvals from the European Union Intellectual Property Office's SME Fund programme — the dedicated funding track helping small and medium enterprises protect and expand their intellectual property portfolios.

The approvals, drawn from the EUIPO SME Fund, give EnerGaia Institute the means to file and maintain a broad set of trademarks and designs across Europe. The work is being carried out in close collaboration with EX-IX, the IP and venture infrastructure partner that has been helping the institute structure, file and defend its growing portfolio.

For the summit community, the milestone matters on two fronts. First, it shows a concrete path from research to protected, investable IP — the kind of moat that turns applied science into durable venture outcomes. Second, it demonstrates how the EUIPO SME Fund can be used in combination with a specialist IP partner to build portfolios at scale rather than one filing at a time.
